Blackberry Camp, Southleigh, Devon (EH)

An Iron Age hill fort defended by a single bank and ditch forming a D-shape enclosure. A triangular outwork or barbican was added to the south but is not believed to have been completed. The fort was probably occupied between first and second century BC by a cattle farming community.

This is now a splendid area for a walk through the indigenous woods and to take in the wonderful views across the valley and as you walk in the direction of Beer, you even get sight of the sea on the horizon. At minimum a walk around the raised, flint path is a must.
