People Artists, Architects and Designers The many stately homes included in this site would never have been so spectacularly decorated without the skills and imagination of a number of talented artists. These artists we responsible for creating the wall coverings, ceiling mouldings and carvings, paintings and formal gardens. Select an artists and you will learn about their work, collaborators and the houses on which they employed their skills. Historical Families Through out the ages a few powerful families have left their mark in history. Some of the families who have influenced the building and development of the sites we have visited are included below.
