Cathedral (ka'Øi:dral) n. the principal church of a diocese, containing the bishop's official throne.
Minster
('minsta) n. Brit. any of certain cathedrals and large churches, usually originally connected to a monastery.
Abbey
('æbi) n. a building inhabited by a community of monks or nuns.
Priory ('praiori) n., pl. -ories. a religious house governed by a prior, sometimes being subordinate to an abbey.
